Scholarship to study in the US

The Brittingham Viking Organization is now offering one scholarship for the academic year 2017/2018 and one scholarship for summer courses in 2017. The scholarship covers travel to and from the U.S, tuition, accommodation and basic living expenses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, recognized as a public IVY-league university. If selected, you will have the opportunity to travel and visit past scholars living all over the U.S. The total value of the scholarships is USD 40,000 for the full year scholarship and USD 12,000 for the summer scholarship. You can choose freely what subjects you want to study at the university.
The summer scholarship of 2017 is offered in cooperation with the Anders Wall Foundation (http://www.wallstiftelsen.se). The Anders Wall Foundation was established in 1981, every year awarding scholarships to young talents in the fields of natural science research, young business enterprise, rural development, international studies and music. Since the start, the Foundation has awarded SEK 45 million to more than 300 recipients.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a Swedish citizen, studying at a university in Sweden. You are a person who loves making new friends, with a keen interest in international relations in general and in America in particular. You are a devoted student, but also have great social skills, high values and integrity. You can prove commitment to others through extracurricular activities or community involvement. You have an excellent academic record and fluent communication skills in English and Swedish and should have a TOEFL test score of 80 or higher by mid February.
This scholarship is about getting first-hand experience of American culture and fostering bonds between the Nordic Countries and the U.S. The scholarship emphasizes meeting new people and establishing new friendships. You are expected to act as an ambassador for Sweden during your stay in America. Upon returning to Sweden, you will become part of an alumni network of former scholars, where you will be expected to greet future American scholars visiting Sweden.
HOW TO APPLY
The scholar will be chosen based on his or her written application and on interviews, which will be held in Stockholm January 21st, 2016. The application should contain 1) personal letter (max. one page, in English) explaining why you should become the next scholar 2) your CV (max. one page, in English) and 3) grade transcripts from college or university. The application should be emailed with “Brittingham Scholarship” as the subject to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than January 9th 2017.
