Why should I become a member of Der Verein?

– As a member, you get to be part of external event such as Das Oktoberfest and a number of internal events including our annual trip to Germany, internal parties at Enoksro, “Battle of Nations” and many more. It’s simply an awesome way to get to know some new people at school in a 100 % gemütlich setting! Wünderbar! But how do I become a member of Der Verein?

– In theory, it is easy. You simply attend our initiation in November, swear the ancient oath of Der Verein, get your German name and you have your life-long membership sorted. However, IRL there is a problem. Due to budget- and space-restrictions we have a limited amount of spots available for the initiation. We would love to welcome everyone who is interested but due to practical issues, this is unfortunately not possible. Oh no! I don’t want to miss out! Is there not a DV-fast track available?

– To greatly increase your chances to get to be a part of the initiation and to become a member of Der Verein, there is a nifty shortcut. For the students who are keen to show their German spirit we now have spots available as “DV-funkis” during Das Oktoberfest on the 8th of October. As a “DV-funkis” you will get to join our PRE-OKTOBERFEST seating in the rotunda and you will work with the rest of Der Verein during Das Oktoberfest to make it the best party of the year. How do I apply for a spot as “DV-funkis” during Pre-Oktoberfest and Das Oktoberfest?

– Send an e-mail with your name, enrollment number and a short motivation of why you would like to join Der Verein to: derverein@sasse.se no later than the 3rd of October.
