Ny student på Handels 2011?

Då kommer du snart få hemskickat en Småttingguide eller Masterguide späckad med information om skolan, kåren, introveckorna och allt möjligt annat. Kåravgiften

Kåravgiften är 200 SEK och gäller för ett helt år. Genom att betala den får du tillgång till allt som kåren gör så som företagspresentationer, mässor, arbetsmarknadsdagar, fester, olika sociala aktiviteter och likande. Du får även hem Dagens Nyheter kostnadsfritt under hela tiden som du är medlem.

Bostad i Stockholm?

Det är inte lätt att få bostad i Stockholmsområdet, särskilt inte i innerstaden. Det bästa tipset är generellt att ställa sig i bostadskö så snabbt som möjligt. De allra flesta hittar dock bostad innan eller precis i anslutning till inskrivningen. Detta brukar ofta vara studentrum eller studentlägenheter alternativt vanliga hyresrätter. En del köper även lägenhet men det är vanligast att man hyr.

SSSB, Stiftelsen Stockholm Student Bostäder, är en av de största aktörerna när det gäller studentbostad i Stockholm. SSSB drivs av Stockholms Studentkårers CentalOrganisation, SSCO. För att stå i SSSBs bostadskö krävs kårmedlemsskap i en studentkår i stockholm men du kan stå i kö i 90 dagar utan att vara medlem. Efter 90 dagar måste SSCO få bekräftelse på medlemskap och så länge du betalat din avgift när du får information om att göra detta så kommer det att skötas automatiskt av Kåren utan att du behöver göra något.

sökstudentbostad.se är en sida som samlar länkar till många olika aktörer som har studentlägenheter för uthyrning. Det finns även information om hur man hyr samt vilka regler som gäller. Samma information går såklart även att hitta på SSSBs hemsida.

Blocket kan även vara en guldgruva ifall man har lite tur. Både bostadsrätter och hyresrätter går att hitta här.

Resa i Stockholm

Lättaste sättet att ta sig runt i innanför tullarna är att åka tunnelbana eller buss. På Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) hemsida hittar du priser och reseplanerare. Här kan du se priser för studentbiljetter.

Ny prisinformation!

Från och med den 1 september 2011 kommer SL att höja avgiften på sina studentbiljetter.
Priset kommer då att vara:

-          560 kronor för ett 30-dagarskort

-          1540 kronor för ett 90-dagaskort

Det är fortfarande möjligt att köpa ett 90-dagarskort den 31 augusti till det gamla priset (1350 kronor).

Vid köp av studentbiljett via automat var då noga med att inte välja reducerad biljett.
Det man behöver göra vid köp via automat är att bläddra sig fram till biljetten som heter Studentbiljett 30/90-dagar.
Köper en student som är över 20 år en biljett till reducerat pris är biljetten inte giltig.

The Student Association fee

Student Association fee is 200 SEK per year. By paying it you get access to all the SA do, for example company presentations, job fairs, parties, various social activities and similar events. You may also register to receive Dagens Nyheter (one of the biggest daily newspapers in Sweden) free of charge for as long as you are a member.

You will receive information about how to pay in the beginning of the semester.

Housing in Stockholm

It is not easy to obtain housing in the Stockholm area, especially in the inner city. Your best bet is generally to register in different housing queues as quickly as possible. Most people find housing, however, before or immediately adjacent to enrollment. These are often dorm rooms, student apartments or regular rental apartments. Some people buy their own apartment but the most common is to rent.

SSSB, Stiftelsen Stockholm Student Bostäder, is one of the largest suppliers in terms of student accommodation in Stockholm. SSSB is owned by Stockholms Studentkårers CentalOrganisation, SSCO. To be in their queue you have to be a registered member of a Student Association in Stockholm but you can be registered in the queue for 90 days without being a member of any Student Associtation, but after 90 days SSCO must receive confirmation that you are a member of any Association in Stockholm. As long as you pay your fee when you receive information about this it will be handled automatically by the Corps.

sökstudentbostad.se is a site that collects links to many different companies who have student apartments for rent. There is also information on how to hire and what rules apply. The same information can of course also be found on SSSBs website. The site is in Swedish.

Blocket.se can be a gold mine if you have a little luck. Both apartments for purchase and rental apartments can be found here. This site is also in Swedish.

Housinganywhere.com is a site in English, mostly aimed towards exchange students and shorter rental periods (approx. 6 months) but anyone can add their apartment to the site.

Travel in Stockholm

The easiest way to get around central Stockholm is to take the subway or bus. On Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL.se) website you will find prices and a travel planner. SL is available in english.

New pricing information!
From 1 September 2011, SL to raise the fee on their student tickets.
The price will then be:

- 560 SEK for a 30-day card

- 1540 SEK for a 90-day note cards

It is still possible to buy a 90-day card until 31 August to the old price (1350 SEK).

When buying a student ticket in the automated machines, be careful not to choose a regular reduced price ticket.
What you need to do (when buying via the vending machine) is to scroll through the list of all available tickets and choose the one called Student Ticket 30/90-days.
Students over 20 years can not travel on regular reduced price tickets.
